私は自分の司会講座の中で、現在の葬儀は＜進行台本＞ではあるはずだが、
未だに＜進行マニュアル＞のような考え方をするのは古い体質だ。
そういう話をすることがある。
とは言っても、＜進行マニュアル＞で司会をやっているケースでは、
＜少なくともこのようにして＞使いなさいよ、と教えているのだ。
講座に参加した人に悪いから、ここでは詳細に話せないが、
葬儀の司会でも、マニュアルは確かに一時期必要なものである。
他業界のサービス業を眺めても、サービスの進化の過程では絶対必要だ。
低コストの実現や低コストオペレーション方法など、
企業の知的資産という面も多分にあるだろう。
そしてマニュアルは、学力差(学歴差)、人種間の差異、
ある程度の知識・経験・個性までも均一化するというものだから、
安定したサービス提供には欠かせない。
また人材教育が手っ取り早いので、どうしてもマニュアルに頼ってしまう。
しかし、マニュアルにはそれなりの良さもあるが、同時に限界もあるのだ。
大まかに言えば、以上の考えに基づいて、葬儀の司会では、
＜進行台本＞という考え方と＜進行マニュアル＞という考え方は違うし、
実際の行為にどんな差が生まれるかを話している。
(判りづらい話でごめんなさい)
私は勿論＜進行台本＞を薦めています。
何故こんな話をするのか、それは葬祭業者のサービス提供について考えてみたいからだ。
私は【感動する葬儀の提供】とかを謳っている葬祭業者について疑問を感じている。
そもそも感動って何だろう、人が感動するってどういうことだろう。
そして別に感動したくないし、粛々と進行して欲しいと願う遺族だって多いはずだ。
世の中のニーズは多種多様だから、遺族だって考え方は様々だ。
人が感動するのは、例えば意外な結末に涙したり、思いもよらぬ巡り合せに喜んだり、
読んで字の如く「人の感情」を「動かす」ことである。
【感動する葬儀の提供】を目指す葬儀社は、全部ではないにしろ
ギミック(仕掛け)、からくり、奇をてらったパフォーマンスなどに走りやすい。
そして顧客は、予期せぬサプライズに感情を動かされるということになるはずだが・・・。
果たして現代の葬儀に、そんなものが必要だろうか。
かく言う私も、過去に葬儀で何度も感動してきた。
担当しながら泣いた経験も何度かあるし、司会をしながら声を詰まらせたこともある。
そこに仕掛けは一切無かったが、人の心は動かされやすいものだ、特に葬儀の場では。
しかし、感動を意識的に提供するとなると、そこには疑問を感じる。
葬儀にサプライズの必要性を感じることはない。
しかしながら、経験上「上手く出来た葬儀」「感動してもらえた葬儀」というのもある。
それは忘れられない葬儀として、私の記憶の中で生き続ける。
そこを求めたい・・・と毎回思うから、いけないのかもしれない。
同じような条件に、自分なりに導き出した同じような項目を当てはめ、
あの感覚をもう一度と、試行錯誤を繰り返しながら葬儀をやっているうちに
・・・やがて気付く。
作為的に陥っている自分と、葬儀はそもそも毎回違うものだということを。
葬儀にサプライズはいらないということを。
作家ではないから巧く書けないけど、この感覚は判ってもらえるだろうか。
